On Sunday, Team Colucci's Diamond Girls earned their first victory at Sahlen's indoor winter league. After week one's loss to the Crabapples, the Diamond Girls went back to work at practice. Things are coming together as the young squad continues to work hard on softball skills development.
Offensively the team was not satisfied with their performance and worked on hitting mechanics as well as the short game to be able to score runs needed to win games.
Going into week two they felt good about themselves and got off to a good start. Defensively the team made several plays on the field that has come from the girls being patient and working together as a team.
Overall the team earned its first victory but more importantly they are maturing as a young softball team as they prepare for the summer travel season.
